So many youngsters believe that they already know "everything" and have no need for the academic, and life skills that your school, agency, or job training service offers.
Here are some delightfully unusual ways to jolt your children and youth into considering that maybe your site has something essential to offer them. All of these motivation-makers and apathy-busters show young people that they need your service if they are to successfully survive on our increasingly computerized, evermore technologically complex "High Tech Planet."
The best way to use the quiz is to read aloud each question and the first two (humorous) answers, then see if any of your youngsters can provide the correct (third) answer. The natives of our High Tech Planet make sounds like "ISP," "DSL," "Server," 'Sprinks," and "Dogpile." Help your students translate these sounds from the future that are here today:
Can You Speak the Language on High Tech Planet?
1. Soon, everyone may need a home computer to perform essential everyday activities. Luckily, I already have an ISP. It's
a) The I Sense Psychics Channel
b) An Icy Spinach Parfait
c) An Internet Service Provider, which is necessary to connect to the internet
2. Due to terrorists using regular mail, many entities may soon only accept email, and I will be ready because I know all about email. For example, I know that Mailer Daemon sends you

3. When most mail-- including bills'is transmitted electronically, I will be ready because I know that spam looks
a) Best served cold
b) Best not served at all
c) So much like real email sometimes that there may be occasions when I have trouble telling my real email from deceptive imitations that can defraud me
4. When people are upset that the server is down, they mean that
a) A waiter or waitress has fallen and no one will be fed
b) A tennis player is injured
c) The host computer on the internet or a network is not working correctly and they are unable to use the internet or network normally or at all
5. Many-- perhaps most-- businesses, expect all employees to use the network. That means
a) The TV should be tuned to NBC at all times
b) The TV should be tuned to CBS at all times
c) That you must know how to log on to and use a computer that is linked to other computers
6. When people talk about the internet and "secure," they are referring to

c) Often, as new viruses are unleashed and as recommended by the anti-virus software, or else you may not have a working computer
9. As more everyday life activities are done only--or primarily-- on the computer, I will be ready. For example, I know that the difference between RAM and ROM is

b) One lives on a farm and one doesn't
c) RAM refers to the amount of memory your computer has. ROM is most commonly used in conjunction with the word CD to refer to the disk used to get programs or data into or from your computer
10. I know that 56K is going to become obsolete and that I may have to switch to DSL. Fortunately, I already know that DSL is
