Bridal Shower Party Game Icebreakers

Author: Randy Wilson

A fun way to introduce all guests is to play a fun bridal shower party game. These are great icebreakers which will allow the guests to learn each others names while having a fun time! Many bridal shower guests may not know each other, especially if individuals from both sides are invited to join in on the fun. These simple icebreakers will allow a way for even the shyest guest to break out of his or her shell and meet everyone.

Consider creating a fun bridal shower party game that starts as guests begin to arrive. One great game that allows guests to meet and greet is the great lovers game. Create cards that display names of great lovers throughout history, for example Romeo and Juliet or Anthony and Cleopatra. Give each individual a card with one of these names written on it and instruct him or her to find the match.

There are a couple variations on this bridal shower party game. One variation instructs you not to show the guests whose name is on their card, nor can they be directly told whose name is on their card. Guests must converse with other guests and make guesses to their secret identity. Once their identity is known, they must begin the search for their historical mate.

Another variation is for guests to take on the persona of their historical character. Consider providing small props for each character, for example an exotic headdress for Cleopatra or a bottle of poison for Juliet. Each guest knows the identity of their own character, but others must make guesses. This variation is excellent for smaller parties, since it requires a greater amount of conversation between guests.

Another fun bridal shower party game icebreaker is a bit simpler. Have each guest say their name, their relationship to the lucky couple, and a favorite story about the bride or the groom. This is not only an excellent way for everyone to associate a name with a face, but also reminisce about the bride or groom. Be sure to let everyone know to come equipped with a suitable story to tell, so they are prepared to play the game.

A fun variation on this game is for each guest to write down their story and have the bride or groom (or both!) guess who wrote it. Have a designated reader so that the guests handwriting does not give away their identity for this great bridal shower party game.
