Choosing Your Transportation For Your Wedding Day

Author: George Meszaros
Arranging for your wedding transportation, how many cars you need, what type, and when you need it can be difficult. Regardless of your preferences or budget transportation is an important part of your wedding planning process. There are many options to consider when making plans for your transportation for your wedding day.

If you have to accommodate a large party, limos for the bride and bridesmaids, and groom and groomsmen are a popular choice. Another popular choice for large parties is limo busses. They may not be as smooth as a limo car, but they are fun and can accommodate a lot of passengers. For smaller parties, you may opt for a small antique or horse carriage. There are many creative opportunities for transportation, discuss your likes and dislikes with your groom.

Finding the right company can be a challenge since there are so many transportation companies out there. Ask your recently married friends, family members, and colleagues to recommend transportation companies. If you work with a wedding coordinator, be sure to ask for recommendations.

Try to book transportation from three to six months in advance. If your wedding falls on a Saturday during the busiest wedding months, be prepared to compete for the same services and vendors.

It is important to only deal with reputable vendors. You should ask for references. Ask for what kind of insurance coverage they have in case of accidents. Ask to make sure what is and is not included in the service.

Once you have made a decision about which company to hire, make sure to put it all in writing. Written contracts are an absolute must. It protects not only you, but the vendor as well. If you plan to have alcohol in the limo, make sure that it does not conflict with the company's insurance policy. Ask about the contingency plans if a vehicle breaks down during your wedding day?

Confirm the dress code for drivers, and make sure it is appropriate for the wedding. Prior to the big day, make sure drivers are notified about hard to find places. Provide the company with driving directions if necessary.
